Your kitchen and your garden can be your best friends in your battle against acne. There are so many age old remedies, which have been handed down generations that really help in controlling the aggravation and spread of acne.
There are many astringents available in your kitchen which can help you keep greasiness off your face. Mint juice, juice of fresh neem leaves and lemon juice are very good astringents. All you have to do is dip a ball of cotton wool in any one of these juices and wipe your face twice everyday. These juices contain antiseptic properties that prevent the spread of infected acne and pimples. They also cleanse the skin and remove dirt from the pores.
You can make your own face packs and use them with astounding results. Turmeric has always been a wonder beauty aid. Applying a paste of turmeric evenly on the acne infected skin will reduce inflammation and irritation. Regular usage lends a golden blemish free glow to the skin. Saffron paste also helps curtail acne. Sandalwood, specially red sandalwood, is a very effective remedy for skin problems. Usage of these natural beauty aids improves complexion and reduces scars and spots from the skin.
The neem tree is a magical tree. Every part of the tree, from its roots to leaves, has strong medicinal properties. Mixing a fresh paste of neem leaves with turmeric powder or sandalwood powder and gram flour and its regular application works wonders on an acne infected skin.
Starch is a good remedy for pimples. It should be applied on the pimples overnight and the pimples disappear. These foods help to maintain the acid-alkali balance of the skin and lend it a nice glow. Drinking lots and lots of water takes care of cleansing your skin from within. Liquid intake like fresh fruit juices provide internal nourishment to the skin and keep acne and pimples under control. They flush out toxic materials in the skin and keep it well cleansed.
